Challenging Puzzle!!

A cHaLlEnGe FoR yOu!! 

A man goes to a lemon tree to rob some lemons but it was surrounded by 5 watchmen and the only way to go and come back is that he told them that he will give 3 lemons to each one of them and so he took 44 lemons and afterwards he even went through the guards and still had 44 lemons so how did he did that?

This is one of the most challenging puzzles I’ve come across!!
